OK, call me a delayed learner, but I discovered a new life on Thanksgiving. Cleaning is a major issue for me because of my eczema, allergies, and extremely sensitive dry skin. Cleaning the kitchen sink has always been a once a week chore, or maybe more like a when it is too disgusting to leave any longer chore. Gloves do not help much, as a google search will affirm.
The day before Thanksgiving I cleaned the house. Thanksgiving morning I spent an hour or two chopping veggies, so before company arrived I grabbed the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser (which was on top of my collection of scrubbies) and gave the sink another quick wipe down.
Later that day, Candace was washing dishes for me and finished up by pulling out my new all natural pumice and orange oil scrub and cleaning the sink yet again. As we discussed the merits of the new cleanser in comparison to Bar Keeper’s Friend, which is really good, she asked if I ever used Magic Erasers.
Oh my goodness, bells and whistles! That morning was the first time I used a Magic Eraser for something as mundane as the sink. I owned them, but saved them for those super tricky impossible cleaning situations. Jerry always insists that health takes priority and that if it works I should use it, but I assumed Magic Erasers were a specialty item. Maybe not. Each evening since Thanksgiving I wiped down the sink after doing the dishes and it looks fine. So quick, so easy, and clearly a simpler job to keep it nice daily instead of the big weekly clean. My kitchen sink is clean and my hands are happy. : )

so how do you use it?? Just like a sponge? Does it leave that powdery residue on your sink? It doesn’t bother your hands?? I am very intrigued!

Yes, you just use it like a sponge, but with just water. I do not see residue, but the sponge breaks down over time so perhaps there is, but I rinse the sink when I am done anyway. As far as I can tell it does not bother my hands. Have you never used these? They are nice for all those things that nothing else cleans : ) I use them mainly on the stovetop.
